Ian Quigley, MBA
Senior Portfolio Manager
Ian has assisted business owners and executives with pension, investment and tax planning ideas since 2000. Ian holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA), as well as an honors degree in research and analysis (Science). Both degrees were granted by the University of Alberta. Prior, he attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) completing an honors diploma in Finance. Ian teaches part-time for a number of Provincial Institutes of Chartered Accountants and is the author of “Tax & Compensation Strategies,” published by Carswell in 2006. Ian has two daughters and has been married for over 20 years.
Ian currently participates in the UNPRI Clearinghouse Steering Committee and the Director Nomination Committee. Both volunteer positions allow access and influence on global corporate shareholder engagements.
Noah Clarke, MA
Noah completed his Masters in Economics at the University of Ottawa in 2016. His graduate research focused primarily on macroeconomic forecasting and the development of advanced statistical techniques applied for this purpose. Noah joined Qube in 2016, he supplements our macroeconomic research program and is responsible for managing client relations. Noah is also in charge of Qube's business development.
Michael Baker, MBA
Investment Advisor & Business Development Manager
Michael completed his Masters of Business Administration at the University of Alberta in 2018. His focus was on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, specifically how to grow businesses. Michael came to Qube after working for 4 years in operations and working in the non-profit sector. Michaels efforts at Qube are focused on clients relations and marketing for the firm.
Olesia is a recent graduate from the University of Alberta School of Business. Her focus is on the operations of Qube and ensuring that the corporation functions in accordance with its business plan. Olesia is currently working towards obtaining her CPHR designation and plans to pursue a Masters of Business Administration in the coming years. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, hiking, hot yoga, as well as travelling and exploring new destinations.
Patrick Choi, CFA
Associate Portfolio Manager
Patrick is a graduate from the University of Alberta's business school and is a CFA charter holder. Patrick is currently registered as an Associate Portfolio Manager at Qube and has been working for the past 8 years on our team as an equity analyst and trader. Prior to joining Qube, Patrick worked as a trader in the discount brokerage division at TD Waterhouse for 5 years.
Sarah is a graduate of MacEwan University with a major in Accounting and minor in Finance. She came to Qube in 2019 to launch the new Social Impact Fund and now works mainly in client services, portfolio administration and fixed income trading management. Sarah has grown up in the theatre arts community of Edmonton and--following a brief stint at musical theatre school-- remains active in the community. She has her Level I CFA and is enrolled to write her Level II in May, 2021.
Mark recently completed his Master of Business Administration with a focus in Finance from the University of Alberta. During his MBA, he was actively involved in non-profit consulting and offered support to start-up companies. He believes in staying active within the community and volunteering his time. Outside of Qube, he enjoys running, biking, and participating in team sports.
Client Relations Coordinator
Nicole came to Qube in 2011 with 15-years industry experience in investment account administration and service. Nicole is a valued team member, keeping our accounts in order and assisting new clients during their transition to Qube. Investment administration is a specialized and technical trade, and we are fortunate to have the skills of Nicole on our team.
Insurance Administration Coordinator
Brenda headlines insurance administration on a part-time basis and also pitches in wherever a need arises. She is a great believer in life-long learning and has plans for further formal education. Brenda enjoys reading widely, and loves spending quality time with family and friends
Lead, Sr. Student Equity Analyst
Nick is currently going into his third year at the University of Alberta in the Bachelor of Commerce program. He intends to major in Finance. Nick joined Qube part-time in September 2018 and has completed his CSC & IMT since his employment. Previously, Nick was a Canadian Freestyle skiing athlete and spent 2 years coaching the Edmonton Freestyle Ski Team (2016-2018).
Sr. Student Equity Analyst
Austin is going into his fourth year of finance at Mount Royal University minoring in accounting. He joined Qube in May 2019, and is currently working towards his CIM, with plans to pursue a CFA upon graduation. Prior to joining Qube’s team, he worked as a client advisor with RBC while in school. Previously, Austin was heavily involved in competitive athletics playing Jr. A Hockey in the AJHL and SJHL. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and challenging himself to learning new things.
Jr. Student Equity Analyst
Wyatt is currently enrolled in his fourth year at the University of Alberta in the Bachelor of Commerce Program, with a major in Finance and a minor in Computing Science. Wyatt is currently a member of the Edmonton Collegiate Baseball Club. Prior to joining Qube, he worked as an intern at Raymond James Ltd. Wyatt plans on pursuing his CFA designation after graduation.
Jr. Student Equity Analyst
Nathaniel is currently enrolled in his third year at the University of Alberta pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Finance. He is currently completing the Canadian Securities Course and intends to further pursue the CIM and CFA designations in the coming years. Nathaniel enjoys spending his free time cooking, baking, camping, and hiking in the Kananaskis County region of Alberta.
Jr. Student Equity Analyst
Daniel is a third year Finance student at the University of Alberta. He recently finished his CSC and is planning to pursue both the CIM and CFA designation. Outside of Qube, Daniel is passionate about contributing to the community. He volunteers for various non-for-profit organizations; he helps manage their finances, investments, and fundraisers.
