Ian Quigley, MBA
Senior Portfolio Manager
Ian has assisted business owners and executives with pension, investment and tax planning ideas since 2000. Ian holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA), as well as an honors degree in research and analysis (Science). Both degrees were granted by the University of Alberta. Prior, he attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) completing an honors diploma in Finance. Ian teaches part-time for a number of Provincial Institutes of Chartered Accountants and is the author of “Tax & Compensation Strategies,” published by Carswell in 2006. Ian has two daughters and has been married for over 20 years.
Ian currently participates in the UNPRI Clearinghouse Steering Committee and the Director Nomination Committee. Both volunteer positions allow access and influence on global corporate shareholder engagements.
Noah Clarke, MA
Noah completed his Masters in Economics at the University of Ottawa in 2016. His graduate research focused primarily on macroeconomic forecasting and the development of advanced statistical techniques applied for this purpose. Noah joined Qube in 2016, he supplements our macroeconomic research program and is responsible for managing client relations. Noah is also in charge of Qube's business development and the Group Savings program.
Michael Baker, MBA
Michael completed his Masters of Business Administration at the University of Alberta in 2018. His focus was on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, specifically how to grow businesses. Michael came to Qube after working for 4 years in another operations manager role as well as working in the non-profit sector. His focus is on the operations of Qube as well as the Charitable Foundations.
Patrick Choi, CFA
Associate Portfolio Manager
Patrick is a graduate from the University of Alberta's business school and is a CFA charter holder. Patrick is currently registered as an Associate Portfolio Manager at Qube and has been working for the past 6 years on our team as an equity analyst and trader. Prior to joining Qube, Patrick worked as a trader in the discount brokerage division at TD Waterhouse for 5 years.
Analyst & Impact Manager
Sarah is a recent Accounting graduate from the Bachelor of Commerce program at MacEwan University. At Qube she will be managing the new Social Impact Fund, as well as working in client services, assisting in portfolio administration and fixed income trading and management. Before her time at MacEwan, Sarah was pursuing a career in theatre arts. She is still very active in the Edmonton theatre community, performing in shows at the Edmonton Fringe. Sarah has her CFA Level 1, and is registered to write her Level 2 in June, 2020.
Tony is a graduate from the University of Alberta and holds a Bachelor of Commerce focused in Finance and Management Information Systems, as well as Bachelor of Science focused in Biological Sciences and Economics. Before joining Qube, Tony founded and operated his own business during his studies. As a result, he was nominated nation-wide as one of twelve candidates for the 2018 National Student Entrepreneur hosted by Enactus. Tony has completed his CFA Level I; he plans to write his level II exam in June 2020. Tony’s focus at Qube is retirement modelling, tax management, portfolio assessments, and wealth management research.
Investment Administration Coordinator
Nicole came to Qube in 2011 with 15-years industry experience in investment account administration and service. Nicole is a valued team member, keeping our accounts in order and assisting new clients during their transition to Qube. Investment administration is a specialized and technical trade, and we are fortunate to have the skills of Nicole on our team.
Anya Tonkonogy, MA
Client Relations & Team Coordinator
Anya brings a wide array of “people skills” to her role with Qube. Her undergraduate degree in Psychology (Honours) from the University of Alberta and a Masters in Arts from Concordia University (Montreal) both serve her well as she works to assist with our client relations and marketing activities. Anya volunteers in the local Art community and is an accomplished portrait artist in her spare hours.
Corporate Social Responsibility Research Team Member
Brenda headlines insurance administration while also participating in our Environmental, Social and Governance research part-time. With her assistance, we research, monitor and engage companies to encourage higher levels of corporate responsibility.
Lead, Student Equity Analyst
Nick is currently enrolled in his second year at the University of Alberta in the Bachelor of Commerce program. He intends to major in Finance. Nick joined Qube part-time in September 2018 and has since begun working towards his CSC. Previously, Nick was a Canadian Freestyle skiing athlete and spent 2 years coaching the Edmonton Freestyle Ski Team (2016-2018).
Sr. Student Equity Analyst
Matthew is going into his final year of the Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance at the University of Alberta. Before transferring to the UofA, he spent three years playing volleyball at MacEwan University. Matthew is planning on pursuing a career in risk analysis and is writing his CFA level one in December. In his spare time, he enjoys camping, hiking and beach volleyball.
Jr. Student Equity Analyst
Austin is going into his third year of finance at Mount Royal University and has plans to pursue a CFA upon graduation. Prior to joining Qube’s team, he worked as a client advisor with RBC while in school. Previously, Austin played Jr. A Hockey in the AJHL and SJHL. In his free time enjoys playing golf.
Jr. Student Equity Analyst
Ellie is in her final year of Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance at the University of Alberta. She is planning to write her CFA Level I in June next year. Before joining Qube, Ellie had worked at ATB Financial and RBC Royal Bank. She has been involved in Rotary International for the past 8 years and enjoys exploring new places and connecting with people and the community.
